re: Month a' the Chicken is in August

0

I am starting to put the schedule together for this year's MotC events.  I mentioned the info found here on the Landy Vets forum, and Miss Pandothrien sent a kind note saying perhaps ya'll would be innerested in joining us this year.

Events can be co-hosted by multiple kins, some events some kins prefer to organize themselves.  Either is jes fine.

For folks who aren't familiar with this annual cross kin month of events, or want a refresher, you can find last year's notice here.  Events can range from RP friendly to full RP events.  RP friendly meaning it's not required, but folks can RP if they like.

You can find all confirmed events on the Moot calendar here.  MotC events are marked with yellow. As events get confirmed, they will be added to the calendar.

Ardachicken may shift earlier in time, but will definitely be on that day.

All other events posted, those days/times are final.

We are currently looking to put either a Chickers and Seekers (Hiders and Seekers as chickens) event during the second or last week, and will likely do a chicken run/swim to Everswim the second week, possibly afternoonish on Saturday the 13th.

There will be a Last Chance Rivendell run the Fryday before the Free Range run for folks who need it in order to attend the Free Range event.  I should have that confirmed soon.  I'm just not sure if it will be led by the Bounders or Remnant yet.

We will be offering a Green Eggs Chicken Camp (the first three quests you need to open Flying the Coop questline) the last week of July since Weatherstock will be done by then.  I need to find the best days/times for those as well.

Last year the Courserrim folk hosted a chicken run to Isengard, but I have not yet gotten a yea or nay from them about if they will do so this year.  Last year they did it the last Sunday of the month.

I would like to have a run for the new chicken quest, but I do not know the route (lack of cap level folk), so if anyone has interest in that, please let me know as well.

Mooters can see the planning thread here. If you need access to see/post there, just hit the regular "Forum Application" link on the home page widget "Respectable Hobbits Wanted!" and in the application, the first question asks if you're a Mooter so you can get put in that group for access.  If you don't know what the Moot is, PM me via the forum and I'll tell ya.  This does NOT make you a member of the Bounders of the Shire kin.

We have been wanting to do a chicken/feather themed fashion show during the month, but the folk who wanted to do such is really busy with work and cannot commit to such.  So if you like putting together fashion shows, please let me know if this is something you'd like to offer!

If there is anything you would like to sponsor or co-sponsor this year, please let me know. I know the Bounders would be happy to have some spotter help during Ardachicken, making sure chickens are swimming when they's supposed to be, and running the obstacle course in the last wing properly as well.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask!

 ~~~~~Let yer feathers fly!
Thanks for this post dear! I'll support and encourag multi-kin events, and will be looking at my schedule as well to participate. If any Golden Mallorn folk have ideas for events or want to volunteer/attend any event, feel free to also post it here so as many from kin as possible can see and join in.
Just letting folks know, we are doing 3 pre events this Saturday (30th).
Two Green Egg Chicken Camps at 10am and 2pm (helping with pre Fly the Coop quests);
and an Earlyburd run t' Rivendell at 8pm--this is the gather time, not the leave the farm time.
All times servertime.
If you want to train up a chicken or act as an escort, stop on by Sandson's Farm!
If you don't see anyone, shout in /regional at the farm.  If no one responds, head out past the Sandson's farm/festival region area to regular Shire /regional and give a shout there as we may all be escorting off farm.
We're not yolking!  This year is our 7th Annual Month a' the Chicken celebration in the Shire and Beyound!
Mayor Whitfoot and his special Month a' the Chicken Clutch have been incubating all sorts of chicken goodness for this year's offerings. We are pleased to welcome back many returning kins and individuals that have helped run this month of events in past years. We hope all who attend enjoy what we've hatched this year.
The list below has two segments, on top is confirmed events. At the nest level is events we are hoping t' offer, but haven't pecked out all the details yet. Once we have confirmed details, they'll move to their place, safely nested above.
T' help us celebrate the month in style, please feel free to wear Cloaks of the Cluck, sport some shiny Hobnanigan duds or flaunt yer Farmer's Faire attire in celebration throughout the month! Ya can even carry an egg basket about, or simply uncoop yer prized chickens and that'd be swell too.
One note that must be made, given the split of the Carrier Pidgeons Unions in the Shire, if ya attend an event at Sandson's Farm, and it seems no one is there, jes holler out and we'll send a guide t' find ya.*
All events are posted in Shire Time.** If ya have any related queries, please feel free t' contact me here or via the Quick Post (Daffodilia).
Saturday the 13th at 2pm: - Carrier Chickens: Lost, injured, unable to return home to warn their folk...a desperate plea must be made to the chickens of Sandson's Farm to act as Carrier Chickens where it's too cold for the pidgeons to fly. [*PLEASE NOTE: This is a Freewing RP event. Many will NOT survive.*]
Sunday the 14th, noon: Iron Beak: This Ardachicken event, as with the Ardaman events, will have three feats of endurance for only the most hardened of eggcellent Free Wing chickens. Start gathering at the Farm at 11:30am. The race will start PROMPTLY at noon--if you are late, you can still participate, but will be at a distinct time disadvantage.
